Summit on Color in Medical Imaging is the latest International Learning and Networking Workshop on the Technical Framework for Consistency and Interoperability Approaches for Dealing with Color in Medical Images which will held on May 8-9, 2013 at the FDA White Oak Campus in Silver Spring, MD, USA. Although this summit will be held in the USA it is intended to be an international event and we plan to have speakers and attendees from all regions.

The event is planned as a 2-full day summit with experts from all relevant areas to discuss the best way forward to provide improved color support for medical imaging applications. The international event's format will consist of oral presentations and open discussion sessions with ample opportunity for interaction and discussions.

Featuring:

  • Clinical photography / ophthalmic photography
  • Digital microscopy / histopathology
  • Endoscopy / laparoscopy
  • Telemedicine / mobile displays
  • Display devices
  • Color measurement
  • Standards and professional group recommendations (DICOM, ICC, CIE, IEC, AAPM)

The Summit on Color in Medical Imaging is being planned by the Center for Devices and Radiological Health of the US Food and Drug Administration (CDRH/FDA) and by the International Color Consortium (ICC) with additional endorsement by American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) and by the committee on Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM).

We plan for each session consisting of an overview talk followed by shorter technical presentations with one or two slides and to focus on technical issues. We also plan to have an 'open mike' slot at the end of each session where delegates will be given the opportunity to provide input in short 1-5 min presentation. The technical program is being coordinated by Veronika Lovell (ICC), who will be happy to answer any questions you may have regarding the event's program and schedule. If you are interested in submitting a short abstract and title for 'open mic' session, please, contact Veronika via email at [email protected].

Pricing: The event is FREE for all to attend, but all the attendees need to submit registration form online prior to the meeting, or register on site.
